Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
The Scheduling Expert ("we," "us," or "the Service") provides online appointment-scheduling software for service businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. Who we are
The Scheduling Expert operates the website at theschedulingexpert.com and the associated booking and dashboard application. You can reach us at info@theschedulingexpert.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — your name, email address, business name, and password when you sign up.
- Business configuration — services, staff, locations, availability, pricing, and similar settings you enter.
- Booking information — when someone books an appointment, we process the client's name, email, chosen service, staff, location, and appointment time. If you are a business using the Service, this may include information about your clients that you or they enter.
- Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; we store limited transaction and subscription identifiers needed to operate billing.
Information from connected services
- Google account data — if you connect Google Calendar, we access your calendar to read availability and to create, update, and remove events for your bookings. See the "Google user data" section below.
Information collected automatically
- Log and usage data — IP address, browser type, pages accessed, and timestamps, used for security and to operate the Service.
- Cookies — we use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect against fraud (e.g., session and CSRF cookies). We do not use advertising cookies.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service — booking pages, dashboards, and calendar sync.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe.
- To send transactional messages — booking confirmations, reminders, password resets, and account notices.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Google user data
The Scheduling Expert's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
When you connect Google Calendar, we request the calendar.events scope so the
Service can:
- read your calendar's busy times so we don't double-book you, and
- create, update, and delete calendar events that correspond to your bookings.
Specifically, regarding data obtained through Google APIs:
- We use it only to provide and improve the scheduling features you enabled.
- We do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the Service, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.
- We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.
- We do not allow humans to read it, except (a) with your consent, (b) for security or to comply with law, or (c) where the data is aggregated and anonymized.
You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your dashboard (Integrations), or by revoking access at your Google Account permissions. When you disconnect, we stop syncing and delete the stored authorization tokens.
5. How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of the data:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Google — calendar synchronization (only if you connect it).
- Resend — sending transactional email.
- Railway — cloud hosting and database infrastructure.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
6. Data retention & security
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, unless a longer period is required by law. We protect data in transit with TLS and restrict access to authorized personnel. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.
7. Your choices & rights
- Access & correction — you can view and update most account information from your dashboard.
- Disconnect Google — revoke calendar access at any time, as described above.
- Deletion — you may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any of these, contact us at info@theschedulingexpert.com.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. A business using the Service is responsible for any end-client information it collects.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
